Is the forum ever going to get upgraded to 1.00 RC4?

WDZ has always said that he won't upgrade until MyBb Gold comes out.

The version of the board we currently use is heavily customised.

wdz, before, has customised the latest version of mybb to our needs, and then Chris releases another version.. so wdz has to start again.

its less stress for him if he just waits for the final, as traxor said above, and im sure chris will give him a copy ahead of schedule.

When will gold be released and what's new on it?

:/ i dont see whats the point in upgrading , what fetures do you want I'm sure if its something good wdz will "port" it to this.

this forum works fine so i don't see why people want to upgrade

cause upgrading is always better

I think you will find it on the mybb website. But more importantly back on topic.
As stiggy and trax said, the forum is highly customised. This forum will be upgraded 4 - 6 weeks (approx) later than the release of mybb gold because it will take some time for DZ to look over everyline of code and ensure its safety plus add the extra features that we have here

One of the big things I want is proper XHTML... the current code is a mess, and I hear that it's much better in the new MyBB.

I just worry about all the little bugs I don't know about (or that I don't have time/motivation to fix) that might possibly detract from a good user experience...

ah i see , the current html is quite a mess i agree (if anyof you know xpaths to access a post you have to go through "//body/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr/td/form/table/tbody/tr/td/table/tbody/tr" which is just insane!)

xhtml will be pretty cool though will that aslo mean alot less tables used? , maby when you do use the new forum have like a transition like http://shoutbox.menthix.net/new would be the new forums so people can "beta" test it and report any little bugs that would distract from a good user experiance.

Uhh, no... I'm mainly thinking about stuff like <img /> and <option selected="selected"> and little stuff like that. All the little errors that the W3C validator finds.
