maybe they could be at the bottom of the convo window where the handwriting tab is ?

liek it is in Plus! isnt it... i think it should look diff, like the other features are implemented and look like theyr spose to be in that spot but the tabs dont look liek they should be there

the best (imo) would be that tabs are initially created with a fixed maximun width. The more tabs are opened, the narrower the tabs become, and finally if even more tabs are created, the 2nd (or 3rd, etc...) rows of tabs are displayed.

Personally I don't like the idea of a scrolling nick. You can see the nick of the person in the chat conversation and usually, what identifies a person  is the first part of the nick: Most people's nicks are something like "<Nick> <some phrase or lyrics from a song>", so what really matters is the first part.

Of course that a tooltip with the whole nick should be displayed with the mouse hovers the tab.

alt+f4 closes the active window but ctrl+f4 closes the active tab
Go try mIRC .... open a channel then open a private convo with someone. Try ctrl+f4 .... it will close the private convo. Itll close the channel window too if you try

CTRL-F4 closes child windows, and that is default Windows beheviour too and not something uniquely to mIRC.

somehow I agree. although implementing them into another spot is much more difficult (except for the bottem(?)). It just takes a bit of graphics tweakingI guess... But don't forget also this is just an early screenshot from a function still in development.

or scrolling is activated! There are equaly as many people who don't like the stacking, but rather have the two scroll arrows I bet (I'm one of them )...

no, because first the tabs become narrower, and when they are very narrow (let's say that in the tab there is only space for the icon and one or 2 letters) then the second row appears

could you make it so that the tabs close on middle click also or an option to select what button closes them?

i like the idea of tabbed messenger.
also another feature could be choosing who to add to a tabbed group.
eg rightclick the person on your list and go add to tabbed group or sumthing...
that way you can choose or making a feature to make tabbed groups. like the way u make contact list groups.
that would be cool.

That would be exactly how I'd like it to be

Besides, I never open that many windows , so that's why I don't want the scrolling arrows (but I understand some people do, so that should be an option). Blah, let Patchou finish it first
