Take a look at the official website and its help pages: "Options for Advanced Users", and read the parts of ResetNameTag, NameOnSignin

Thanks.  I added those settings but I still get the "Personalised Status" dialog when I sign in; my status and name tag remain the same as when I signed out, but when the dialog times out and closes the name tag is removed.  I still can't make it just sign in as Online with my default name.
