yeah but [apparently it is] i didnt think it was possible to disable it for a certan window without doing something halfass like set a timer to run every so milliseconds to activate the window

I mean it's possible to disable it with TweakUI for all windows

mixababy could you tell me where abouts in tweakui i can stop the buttons from flashing? i cant find it lol

In Tweak UI for Windows XP, General > Focus.

that doesn't stop them from flashing, it makes them flash...

The new MessengerDiscoveryX for msn does this now, but it is still in a beta version. www.msgdiscoveryx.com
It would be nice to have this as a built in feature of messenger plus!.

Window Management Plugin also has this feature now

you can download the plugin (dll) from here

Window Manager is discontinued, for WLM try the new,
Enhancer for contact list docking, auto-hide, hide taskbar button, remove button flashing and remember keyboard layout in conversation windows
