Well, you beat me to it - I actually started on something this morning. I had send functionality for /me, Ctrl + K for colour, ^text here^ for underline. I hadn't done the receiving end.

I also began on initial and very basic logging support.

However I gave up because my C++ is very rusty and I wasn't in the mood to fuck about with the Windows API.

Well, I didn't make that much progress, but I fixed a problem regarding incoming text. The smiley stuff seems to work quite fine now.
Also, when you select text you're going to send, and press CTRL+b, it automatically adds asterix' around the text, so it will become bold. Same for CTRL+i (italic). I also captured the settings panel:

Well thats good progress, just dont tire yourself out too much and good look with the programming

awesome..you need a logo and a name..Plus!...dunno if that will work much because of messenger plus! It can lead to confusion! But anyways....I like it!
