Hello everyone

Does Messenger Plus allow you to record video chats? If not, can anyone suggest a way of doing so?

As far as I know there is no current way to record video chats... But the new version of stuffplug might get it... But with the delay's in the programming that might not be for another year or so.

Cool! Only issue is that when i visit the publishers website I get a virus warning? Are you using the recorder, and if so , have you had any issues with spyware being installed, or viruses?

I usually follow my scanner, and if it says there is a virus in the program i either as i can on my computer "put in chest" or delete it depending on severity and if the file is important and you have to keep it. But im not sure with this, i have never used it, but MSN Plugins are usually clean but there are a few out there that try and take ya out.

If you get a virus warning by simply visiting a website then either your browser is seriously set wrongly (it allows anything to be downloaded and executed automatically)[*] or your virusscanner is seriously oversensitive and gives wrong info and false warnings for everything[**]... (or you do not get a warning at all when visiting the website and you actually meant "If I execute the installer, downloaded from that website"[***])

[***] Which means the same as [**]; your scanner is oversensitive. (and you confuse website surfing with executing a file...)

As for the specific software "MSN Webcam Recorder" listed by SonicSam, this isn't a free software, it is shareware. And if you are going to use it, you need to pay $24,95.

It also contains no virusses what-so-ever.

I suggest to follow ALL the links given here and read and explore what the various functions are; some programs have special tutorials regarding MSN Messenger.

Note: The MSN Messenger addon "Messenger Discovery X" also has a webcam recording function, but this is in fact not a real recorder!; it simply takes screenshots, it does not "record" anything.

This is wrong information. You should know not all virus scanners detect virues (i wish there was one) instead they decte adware and spyware. I know when i have adware and spyware is up to my other program etc etc.

Anyway this information is not true as you should know with Messenger Plus!.


You can trust download.com for sure and there is another program that already does this
