O.P. Blocked sites
Just been listening in to other peoples conversations, and someone has found another hole in my schools internet filter. And i cant figure it out myself , anyway, something about removing the http:// from the address and adding something else, like UBL or something. Then you can access the site even though its blocked. Any idea what im talking about?
thanks

RE: Blocked sites
There's no way past a filter by changing http:// to something else, as the http:// means you're connecting to a website.

RE: Blocked sites
I was just about to post about this so might aswell post here...
My school computers has RM SafetyNet Plus which filters websites. I thought it might be an Internet Explorer addon but i've tried installing Firefox but it still filters. I used Process Explorer to close all programs running but yet again.. it still filters. I don't know how to get rid of it.
If your school computers arn't as strict as mine, you should try doing that ^^

RE: Blocked sites
You might wanna try to replace "http://" with "ftp://". Though it often doesn't work, it might work with some sites.
http:// or ftp:// or whatever identifies the protocol used to connect to the site. FTP is used to transfer files (File Transfer Protocol), but some sites do accept it without problems and if the filter in your school isn't that advanced and only checks for the address string pasted in the browser window, you might have some luck...

my school has RM too....
they banned these forums just because its 'web based chat' stupid admins, they seriously do suck... right click for everything except my documents has been disabled!? we cant customize anything, we cant go on a website for like more than 3 times without it getting blocked....
i would reccommend some proxys for getting round school blocking... only problem is when the proxy gets blocked...

More info about that here: The Coral Content Distribution Network
I bet many schools already block it...
