every time i try to use my display picture it won't work.....i'll click the little box and click apply and then i go to change my display picture  and i browse and pick one and then i click ok then on the other screen i click ok and then my display just fades away and then just comes back the way it was nothing changes and then i'll go back in and i won't even have the picture in there any more

have you patch your Messenger, wat version are you running?

Yep i'd download the new msn should fix things up. In conversation boxes have you clicked the little arrow which opens up your display pic? your display pic might be showing, you just might have not let yourself seen it.
