My system runs windows XP sp2.
I assigned a shortcut for locking messenger (CTRL+L).
I already have that shortcut for 2 years and it always worked!
until a few weeks ago, it all of a sudden doesn't work anymore.
I don't know how come... and I don't think it's because of MSN messenger 7.5 because my other computer running MSN 7.0 also has trouble (though it's different).
on this machine, sometimes I will press CTRL+L, and it works...
but after rebooting, I sign in messenger, want to press CTRL+L and nothing happens... I keep retrying... even restarting MSN various times... nothing works.
I even tried going in the plus! menu, and clicking "lock messenger". and it says I have to sign in first before I can use the feature!
of course, I'm already signed in.
(on an unrelated note: I used to be able to lock MSN while signed OFF)
I'm using MSN 7.5.0311 and Messenger Plus 3.61.145 so both are latest versions.
after rebooting sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, it's completely random.
now on my other PC I have another problem with locking MSN messenger.
it runs MSN 7.0 because the OS is windows 98 (which doesn't support MSN 7.5).
it also uses the latest version of Messenger Plus.
when i lock it there, it ALWAYS works... but... when after around 30 minutes getting back on my system, I see either one of my conversations or MSN's main screen on my taskbar, and I can see it when I click on it!
so one of the MSN windows that should be locked, always "breaks" through the lock while I'm gone!
when I unlock MSN, all other windows are unlocked.
weird huh?
and on this XP system I used to have the same problem... but the difference is like I said the problem evolved in not wanting to lock at all sometimes
what to do?
I really need to get the function back to work, because I can't live without it
