Don't use it... :p

Or if it is because you are worried that those quotes can be seen by other people: The quotes are not stored anywhere but in "current user" memory. This means when you close MSN Messenger or even when someone else simply signs in after you, all your previous quotes will be gone for good and can not be retrieved in any way...

Maybe he's worried that if he walks away from the comp then someone will be able to read everything he said. It's a valid point and I also think there should be an option to turn it off, because of this reason.
You can clear windows with the /clear command but you cannot clear the quote log without restarting Messenger.
