Hello all!

I finally found out to change my email for msn, which I did then.
This forced me to reinstall Messenger Plus! which I wasn't prepared for.
Seeing as I didn't make a backup for Messenger Plus! I now have quite a problem with all my hundreds of stupid emoticons that I've painstakingly added...

I have all the .dat files in my old ID under Appilication Data
Can I transfer them somehow into the new ID?
Just copying and moving them didn't work.
We're talking more than 200 emoticons...
I soooo don't want to have to put them all in again, one by one.
Also, I don't have all of them as .gif somewhere to resave from either.
Is there any way to use the .dat 's?

I'll never be able to find all of those again!
Please helt a stupid Swedish girl who just didn't think ahead...!

You can rename the .dat's to .gif's to recover the original files and re-add them, or you can use some form of emoticon backup program to try and transfer them all over.

How do I rename them?!

You rename them the way you normally rename files.

You can download CEDP Backup Wizard, it will export emoticons, backgrounds and Display Pictures.

I'm curious how did it force you? Messenger Plus! does not need to be reinstalled when you change email...

Naw, when I started msn again after changing my email Messenger Plus! started up its installer-tutorial and that was that...
=/
Don't ask me why, it took me totally by surprise.

Renaming has given them all back to me, so thanx for that one.
Now I just wish I could stick them all in again without having to add them one by one...

Nothing wrong with that, it's just the configuration wizzard (the one where you can configure all your settings right?). This starts up when you use a passport you haven't configured Plus! for already.
