i'm unable to type the > by normally pressing shift+. Instead i have to do alt+62! why? it's not the key because i can type the period.  How do i fix it?

I tried restarting - no help

There are too many variations of keyb layouts, maybe your KB is configured to another English language?

nope, i got the one i always use (English United States)

You should try reinstalling the driver for your keyboard.

Can you type the < key ?

yes i can type the < key and it's very recent

i would reinstall it if i could find the cd for it

Try changing the key layout to en-GB, see if that causes the key to work again. > and . will be mapped to the same key in en-GB as in en-US.

If you tell me the make and model of your keyboard I could find you a driver...?
