Couldn't really find this through the search, so I'll just ask it here.

I'm one of those people who just doesn't want the whole bunch of cr*p in msn 7, so I just hang on to msn 6.2, which does everything it needs to do without any search buttons, winks, buzzers, nudges, the works.

Now, most people did upgrade to 7, and therein lies my problem. The personal message is often used to store some information, such as what music a contact is playing. With msn 6.2 and the latest messenger Plus!, I'm unable to view this personal message. Nor am I able to get the link to their personal 'space' on msn, which I might want to check out because some people refer to their space. Is it possible to add such a feature to the next version, though I'm talking about a relatively old version of MSN? Or is there a plugin which allows me to do this?

I don't think it would be worth making a plugin to do this, and I doubt it would be possible anyway... MSN Messenger 7.5 isn't that bad anyways, just use some software to remove the features you don't like, and it's fine.

Download Mess Patch for 7.5.0322

Download MSN Messenger 7.5, then Mess Patch. Mess Patch gets rid of all the junk you don't need.

Ermm, who says the first poster has WinXP? He might have to stick to 7.0 (Win98, WinMe, Win2000 << this one works on XP aswell) therefor: http://messenger.msn.com

I indeed use Win2k Pro, for pretty much the same reason I wish to stay with msn 6.2. But what I make from Sunshine's post is that 7.5 won't install on 2k? I bet it'll run fine, just not install. That'd be so lame. But I'll get past that if needed, I reckon.

Anyway, thanks for the replies, I might check out 7.x with a nice patch over it, I got the 6.2.0205 and 6.2.0208 version setups stored on my sys anyway

That is an out of date version of MSN Messenger 7.5 for Windows 2000. I have updated it twice for Windows 2000, since Ahmad hasn't. I have sent it into Mess.be but it never gets updated, oh well.

Hmm so now I installed 7.0, and patched the crap out of it. It looks alot like 6 now, or at least the messaging windows do. Too bad it still uses quite a lot of memory.
