You should still be able to use hotmail for pop3 however you did it before hand. The only change is on the hotmail site, your interface is different

i didn't even have to past the link twice, worked first time both times

Yah, 'cos me having a .co.uk account but with my settings saying I live in the US doesn't look susspicious does it............Stupid Microsoft. Cheers Absorbtion
