Man, i think we're in to lots of confusion right here..

One thing is when you boot from the windows cd and press R..
This will appear :

Same thing Select or Press, an yes that is what i mean Recovery Console,  it may work but then again it maynot, but worth a try

the recovery console is just DOS limited to about three commands 8-)

BUT, if you press enter instead of R, and press R after you'll get a thingie which will recover many aspects of your windows..

I'll try "System Repair" but whenever I use my Windows XP CD, it always says that my version of windows is not the same as the one of the CD (probely because I've updated?)

But I'll try it (at school at the moment).

RE: Deleted My Documents!
tbh, and to be quite frankly and blunt, you may as well simply give it up....

Doing all those things will do NOTHING good, in fact it will make things worse.
(even rebooting Windows may already have destroyed anything you could've undeleted)

If the helpers here actually advised the proper thing instead of advising to use tools which are not intended for such things and will actually and mostlikely have overwritten already any data you could undelete, you may have had a chance to undelete your files.

"System Restore", "Recovery Console", "System Repair", etc are NOT backup tools, neither are they used for recovering lost data!!!!!! They are used to recover a malfunctioning Windows installation. Never, EVER, suggest to use those tools for the purpose of undoing an installation, recovering lost files or any other related thing. They are ONLY to be used when Windows is seriously malfunctionning...

If they are indeed overwritten, there is nothing you can do about it, they are lost forever. (unless you have a backup of the data of course)

However, if they are just deleted, you may have (had! see above) a chance to undelete them by using an undelete (or unerase) tool.

Thanks Cookie.

Tried some of the tools, got some stuff back, then found out it was all currupted (ie. my homework etc. was replaced with jumble like "gpiajsdffgop"), so deleted all of them. Got a few pictures back. All the music was corrupted so deleted all them aswell.

Grr, stupid program. Why did it have to replace everything :@

Thanks anyway.

"press enter instead of r" -- you mean reinstall windows? 8-)
