Hello.

I am having problems accessing my apache webhost from the internet.
It works fine when I access it from the home network, but I get a "connection timed out" error when I try to access it from the internet (example: internet cafe)
I can access other ports (example: port 5800: VNC Viewer for Java) from the internet that work fine.

I'm pretty sure I forwarded the port right in my router, because that's how I always used to forward the 80 port to my local IP, and thats how I forward other ports (example: VNC port)


I don't know what's going on...
I don't really need the host for anything, but I don't know whats going on

Maybe something was changed in Apache that disabled accessing the service from the internet?

I have tried:

• Restarting the computer that has apache installed
  
• Disabling my firewall (NIS 2003)
  
• Restarting my router, and forward port 80

Still, it doesn't work


Anyone know what's going on?
It used to work fine before...

Have you tryed to Test Configuration? What does it say? Meaby you have edited httpd.conf file or there has been some conflict. There's also a little possibility that your ISP has closed some of your ports. To check it, insert your IP and port here:
http://web.flavius.ro/
...or ask your ISP, as this tool cannot be always trusted.

I suggest you to install Apache again. If you're using some 2in1 package (for example: Appserv), forget it and install clean Apache from apache.org. Do not assign any domains, leave all domains and hosts to localhost.
