O.P. custom names?
I'm not sure if this has been covered somewhere else, I've looked but I can't find it.
In regards to custom names I know you can change how they look on you list, but is there a way you can change your own so it's different for certian people you chat to on your list from others?
Like say to buddy *A* I want to be seen as simple4_5
and to say buddy *G* I want to be seen as simplesimion
I'm not sure if it's possible but if it is I like to know how.
Thanks

RE: custom names?
No unfortunately due to protocol limitations you cannot have a username per contact using Messenger Plus!. Although if you hook into the protocol you can change the name that is sent during the conversations.

RE: custom names?
I'm not sure how and if you can see if someone used your account if they didn't change anything.
Here are some tips to protect you though:
- make sure you choose a password that is strong, and don't write it down anywhere.
- don't ever tell anyone your password, also not a close friend.
- change your password on a regular basis.
- check your secret question for your email account, make sure it's not easy to guess or easy for people to get it out of you by asking smart questions.

Not quite: it's just no-one's written a plugin to do it. Basically, you need an SPNG-style chat only name which you set per contact.

SPNG ( StuffPlug-NG) is a plugin for MsgPlus which lets you set a chat-only name, meaning that in the contact list you can have one nick and in your conversations another nick.

Protocol Limitations?? What's that?
That would be a really useful thing to have... lol, but doesn't sound that possible and you'd have to specify per contact.

RE: custom names?
You can add custom names to your contacts.
1)Right click an a contact
2)Choose messenger plus extras
3)Rename contact
And you're done
