Hi guys!
So my problem is simple:
Yesterday I tryed to install the new msn messenger 8 (live) wich is still in beta.
After I unistalled it, and then installed again msn messenger 7.5, that I had before.
But now all my old emoticons have been lost...
I tryed to look into "C:\Documents and Settings\MY_USER\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\" and there are some folders named with numbers. Only one of them has a lot of files inside. His name is "1687100242".
I think that in this folder are all my old emoticons, backgrounds....
So, how can I import all those files?
In which folder should I put them to be recognized by msn messenger?

As far as i know, u should, in your messenger go to TOOLS and then my emotions. There click create, give the file file path and shortcut.

I think that your emoticons and  backgrounds are definitively lost. I already tried that too, and I lost them too

the folder that you have identified is the right one. the Custom Emoticons folder has all the files in there. What you would need to do, is to change the file extension to .png. Then, one by one re add them to your messenger

Perfect Reaper, You've understood my problem!
I tryed to rename all files into that directory, and they are all my old files!
So that is the correct directory
Unfortunately they are lots of files...and I'll employ too time to add they one to one....
I think that msn messenger after the reinstallation has modified map.dat file, wich is a sort of database of all files!
Probabily it has been rewritten as new, so all old informations were deleted...
Is there a way to rebuild a map.dat file with some kind of program?
There is one for each tipe of file (backgrounds, emoticons....)

Maybe u know such a way to do this! I tryed to open the file with a text editor, but it isn't written in a plain code...
