More problems, this time its the opposite, to certain people over the last couple of days i have seemed to be offline when being online and they cant send me a message unless i send them a message first. Several contacts have told me this. Any assistance or info ??

I have exactly the same problem, and have been in contact with thet WLM techsupport service. I'll relay the info they gave me so far, I'm still working things out with them.


What you can try is the following:

-clear your contactlist cache.  You do so by following the following steps carefully:
1. Sign out of Messenger.

2. Click "Start," click "Run," type %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\, and then click "OK." A new Microsoft Windows Explorer window opens.

3. In the window, click your Messenger ID.

4. Double-click the "Contacts" folder.

5. Delete the two folders that you see in the "Contacts" folder.

6. Sign in to Messenger again.


If that doesn't work, you can also try deleting and re-adding your contacts. But I can't advise you to follow that step, it sorts no result anyway.

What I figured so far is that my account seems to "hang" between statusses. You can *try* to correct this by changing your status, specially if you have used MSN 7.5 with plus! and had an alternative away status enabled. This seems to have solved the highest success rate so far for me. In any case, it's a server problem most likely and they're working on it. If I get more replies from them with the status of the problem, I'll post here and let you know.

when I write to people (some) they are having trouble writing back to me, their messages keep getting sent back to them even though i'm perfectly conected and online. They often have to send about 10 messages before one gets through. This happens randomly cause they can talk sometimes, its happened for more than one contact too,

I tried the run - and delete the two contacts folder (5) but then i noticed there are no two folders in my contact folder to delete... any advice?

No, I dont have advise, I had the exact same problem, but mailing back and to tech support takes ages, sometimes it takes up to 16 hours before they reply so things go slow.

Is yours fixed now - because mine is still not
