RE: Should I use WLM??
If you just want to try WLM just use both MSNM & WLM. WLM is pretty much the same except for the new Offline Messaging & colourization feature.

Instructions on how to use both MSNM & WLM

1. Install MSN Messenger 7.5 (If you already have it installed you don’t need to)

2. Rename the MSN Messenger folder to MSN Messenger 2 (usually located in C:\Program Files\)

3. Install Windows Live Messenger.

4. Apply a polygamy patch A-Patch to both Messengers, or to the one you plan to open second.

5. Then change all the paths of the shortcuts to MSNM 7.5 to C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger 2\msnmsgr.exe.

I think it's about time Windows Live Messenger started installing in C:\Program Files\Windows Live Messenger\ rather than the MSN Messenger folder :-/.

The latest version of WLM is actually the stablist yet and it doesn't have that many bugs AFAICT. It's actually something I recommend getting :).

Yeah, what all of them say are actually true. The new build of WLM 8 is much better compared to the other older build. Lesser bugs, of course, and the interface is brilliant. If you miss msg+, and you don't want to wait till the final release of WLM, so that msg plus live will be released, you can simply don't install. =) Otherwise, should you want to try out the latest WLM, don't cry for msg plus Live when you can't use it yet.

You can have as many Messengers installed as you like. If I thought it'd be useful keeping it, I'd have Messenger 6.2, 7.0, 7.5 and 8.0 all installed.
At one point, I had two 7.0's installed, one English and one French, for testing purposes.
