after patching 7.5, installing & patching 8.0 i dont have any sounds anymore... no notifications for arriving messages, neither for singing-in people, nothing! does anybody have or had that problem too? need help guys...

Its probably because the latest WLM uses different sounds. As you can see from the link below, its a known bug.

Well, you can try remove both then reinstalling one of them to see if that helps. But from what I have read in the other thread i'm not sure if it will.

Hi guys, if you haven't any sounds with Msn Messenger after a remove of WLM try to:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Click HKEY_CURRENT_USER, click AppEvents, and then click Schemes to expand these registry key folders.
3. Click on Apps and then right-click on MSNMSGR.
4. Click on New and then Key.
5. Name it by right-clicking on the key (it has a folder as icon) and click Rename.
6. You need to name it MSNMSGR_ContactOnline.
7. Follow the previous procedure 3 more times. and name the new keys with these names:
MSNMSGR_NewAlert
MSNMSGR_NewMail
MSNMSGR_NewMessage
