Check your version as hardc0re has asked.
If it is not the latest version (3.63.148) then
download and install it.
Then make absolutely sure the Event Window isn't behind any other window. To check this, close or minimize every window on your desktop one by one.
-
IF you still can't find the Event Window then you have two things you can try. Both methods are identical. The difference is that in the first method you will loose all your settings, whereas in the more advanced second method you wont loose any previous settings:
- With this method you will loose all your previous settings in Messenger Plus!, though it is the most easy/safest method.
Uninstall Messenger Plus! completely in the proper way (go to Add/Remove programs in your Windows Configuration Panel). Make sure you select the option "Also remove my Plus! Preferences"!
After that reinstall the latest version of Messenger Plus! from scratch.
Do not import a backup you've made from your Plus! preferences, as this could well overwrite the correct registry values with the wrong ones again.
Start Messenger and Plus! and check if the option to show/hide the Event Window does in fact show/hide the window.
- The second thing you can try instead of option 1 is to alter (read: delete) some registry settings. The advantage of this is that you wont loose all your other settings. Do this once before you start up MSN Messenger (not while Messenger is already running!).
Remove the following registry keys:
Note that xxxxxx stands for your messenger account email you have this problem with.
In HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou\MsgPlus2\xxxxxx\Preferences
remove the following keys:
SystemLogWndHeight
SystemLogWndWidth
SystemLogWndX
SystemLogWndY
Removing them will simply reset the position settings of the Event Window (as it could be well possible it was located out of sight off-screen)
Then start up Messenger (with Plus of course) and set the options back to show the Event Window.
