It's a nice tutorial, with clear instructions. Could come in useful for a nice text effect.

Hey val, i was wondering if this is only possible with photoshop?
Ive read the tutorial and if it can be made with something else, what steps from the tutorial will work, and what wont. I was thinking something like Photo plus or any basic imaging software  thanks

You can do it with other programs too: I did it with FireWorks.

The most tricky part was adding the Gloss. To do this you have to copy the text layer(right click > Edit > Copy), then put a solid white square (no outline) that covers the top of it, then paste in it the text as a Mask (Right click > Edit > Paste as Mask), then in the properties window set the tranparency you want. The rest is quite straight forwarded.

Yes it is, most image editing programs are based on each other so just try to fallow along and improvise, also check the help documents of the program (usualy F1 or help -> contents )

I don't have photoshop, and i'm too lazy to get it so can someone just make me one?
