Hi,

while I was loading Messenger Plus! one of the features I ticked on was to allow me to run 2 msn programmes on the same computer.

How do I do this?

I have the old msn 7.5 version installed and running with Messenger Plus!, but I would also like to download Windows Live Messenger Beta without it getting rid of msn 7.5, I want the 2 to run side by side.

Do I just go ahead and down Windows Live Messenger Beta?

1. Install MSN Messenger 7.5 (If you already have it installed you don’t need to)

2. Rename the MSN Messenger folder to MSN Messenger 2 (usually located in Crogram Files)

3. Install Windows Live Messenger.

4. Apply a polygamy patch A-Patch [ http://apatch.ikhost.com/wlm.php ] to both Messengers, or to the one you plan to open second.

5. Then change all the paths of the shortcuts to MSNM 7.5 to C: Program Files/MSN Messenger 2/msnmsgr.exe.

1. Rename your MSN Messenger folder, usually located in C:Program Files, to something else, e.g. MSN Messenger 7.5

2. Create a new shortcut to the msnmsgr.exe in that folder (just right-click msnmsgr.exe and click Send to Desktop (shortcut)).

3. Install Windows Live Messenger

To run both of them simultaneously you will need to patch them with polygamy, you can do that with A-Patch.

I've done all the steps,,, but i must have done something wrong.

I've got Windows Live Messenger Beta running, and when I try to get msn 7.5 to run as well, the beta one just pops up...

Where did I go wrong, and what should I do now?

If you want a second or third MSN running at the same time without Polygamy, you can always use Windows Messenger and Web Messenger. Those 2 are a bit crappier than MSN Messenger and WLM, but nevertheless useable.
