Hi,

Normally, when you sign in, and select sign in "appear offline".. MSN asks you, if you want to change your status to online.

The problem is, there is a check, wich says something like "Don't show this message again", and I accidentaly checked it.

I want MSN to ask me if I want to go online, when I sign in with "appear offline"

Does anybody know where MSN stores this setting?

I looked in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then software\microsoft\msnmessenger or something like that, but couldn't find anything what looked like that..

I also checked the same thing in HKEY_CURRENT_USER... but no luck

Have you tried reinstalling msn messenger? also when you reinstall delete your account and add it again from the sign-in window it might help.

Hi,

First calculate your MSN ID. (You can use this program for this).

Then, Navigate to the registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSettings\<your passport ID>

Try changing 'DontShowDefaultSignIn' to 0.

Choli isn't a program (although you're right in thinking that he coded one of them)

the javascript one segosa coded works quite well, and means you don't have to download anything

Neither of which would actually help TBH. And I'm not entirely certain fatfreechicken's advice will work, but it's worth a try I guess.
