Yes, it is a uncomfirmed rumour. However, i think it could actually be that soon as not so long ago (can't be bothered to check exactly when) MS did tell us that the Beta was drawing to a close. So it could indeed be true.
Not sure if Microsoft will announce before hand about the official release. With the release of MSN Messenger 7.0 Beta testers were informed just hours before it was made available (If i remember correctly).

As he says, I think this could be possible, also, if you checked out the official wlm blog, they say they even got the Yahoo! communication working.. so my guess is they won't need more than a couple of weeks.. Seeing as the GUI is final as they said.. and well I don't think any new features are going to be added.. |

True, but i'd expect they'd want to do further testing. Currently its only been tested internally within MS. So as far as Y!M + WLM is concern, i think 1 week may be too little time to test.
