Which is (sort of) how you define a fruit.

Put simply, a fruit is formed from the ovary of a flower, a vegetable is not. Vegetables aren't confined to growing above ground either, so potatoes are vegetables.

Anyone who claims a potato is a fruit needs to be shot. Preferebaly with a spud-gun

nah, it's a tubular veggie because it's the root of the plant that has 'inflated' due to the build up of carbs within the root... but none-the-less it's still a vegetable
