I want the Messenger Plus! 3 users to see my nickname colored.
But even when I choose the IRC code option formatting happens with tags.
So I want help from my friend who use ColorNickv2 with MP!3 to make me some nicknames in oldstyle. If there is no difference between IRC code and BBcode, why are there 2 options.
Or is it a bug?
Does the same happens to you?

You have to use IRC code for people using Messenger Plus! 3.xx users to see it.

There are differences between IRC code and BBcode.  IRC is where you have the $ followd by a number to the display your text as a colour where BBcode is what you are getting.  The easiest way to get the code to display it to your coloured nick to your friends is to get the code off them.  The next best thing is to get them to update to WLM and MP!L but that's only possible if they have Windows 2000 or above.

But why doesn't anything change when I select the IRC format code option. Do you have the same problem?

The only way I've found that I can use IRC coe at all is in a convo and pressing ctrl+r to bring up the color chooser, apart from that I think the rest of it isn't functioning correctly because of a minor bug.  Sorry about the bad news but I'm sure Patchou will work on it

That option reflects what codes are used when you press the shortcuts CTRL+B, CTRL+K, etc...

If you use the formatting panel from the formatting toolbar directly to set colors, BBCodes will always be used. So don't use that formatting panel to set the colors.

To bring up a color dialog when setting colors and which will reflect the color code-choice is to use the shortcut CTRL+R.

There is nothing much to work upon, it functions properly. There are some known limitations (eg: the formatting toolbar color panel will only produce bbcodes), but none of them are of a concearn regarding the OPs question.
