When using tabbed messaging, there is only a slight change in color to alert you of which contact has sent you an IM ( the blinking one). I was hoping that a script could be written that would allow you to change the alert color to something of your choice.
I don't know whether that's possible, but it seems unlikely to me. You could have another form of alert, such as a toast or a window pop-up, but this would get very annoying. Doesn't the taskbar flash and the chat window automatically go to the new message?
