O.P. Offline messages.
Can someone please clarify for me, is offline messaging a part of plus live, or a part of wlm, as I thought it was the latter. Either way it wont work for me properly. I can send offlines or at least yesterday I could, (I'm now getting the brown text, this message couldnt be sent), but I couldnt receive those messages my best mate left me while I was offline.
Has anyone else had this problem? I've searched microsoft newsgroups but can as yet find an answer, and so have posted on their myself.

I have this problem too. Maybe cause they're using 7.5?

Hi again. No we've only been trying to send offlines to peeps on wlm.
Problem appears to be solved now, I had a reply on microsoft newsgroups, advising me to try clearing my messenger cache, did it on both my laptop and the desktop and sent myself an offline from my daughters account and vice versa offline, and both were sent and received succesfully :D
Thanks guys Mc

in internet explorer
tools=> internet options=> delete files (under temp internet files)

im guessing WLM and IE use the same cache? it they dont they u will prob have to go into C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft and go into the windows live folder and delete one of the folders in there but i dont suggest this approach unless u know what your doing since i dont haev WLM installed but this location is where the MSN messenger v7.5 saves its info
~nothing to say~

RE: Offline messages.
I was just researching it on the newgroups and found the exact steps on doing it.

a. If Windows Live Messenger is running, right-click the Messenger icon in
the notification area at the far right of the taskbar, and then click "Exit."
b. Open a Command Prompt window:
- On Microsoft Windows 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000, click "Start,"
click "Run," type "cmd," and then click "OK."
- On Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition, click "Start," click "Run,"
type "command," and then click "OK."

c. At the command prompt, type "CD\", and then press ENTER.
d. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
CD %appdata%\microsoft
e. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
CD "MSN MESSENGER"
f. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
DEL /s ListCache.dat

Note: This command deletes all the ListCache.dat files in all subfolders.
You may see a list of the files that are being deleted.

g. At the command prompt, type "exit", and then press ENTER.
h. Restart Messenger.

RE: Offline messages.
I get those cannot be delivered messages at times too...what helps most of the time is to close the conversation and reopen one with the offline contact.
