Before my mum got her new computer we had it set up so that my computer would use the printer hooked up to her computer through the network, now since she got her new computer I can't get it to work

her computer is running Windows Media Center Edition, her old one was running XP Pro. Mine is running XP Pro.

In the printer setup on her computer I've set it to allow sharing for the printer that I want to print from, but when I go to set it up from my comptuer I get this:

I've double and triple checked the printer name but it still doens't work any suggestions?

Have you tried to reinstall the drivers so that it is set up to the right computer.  The path to the pinter should be \\{Computer Name}\{Printer Name}  if it is still set up for the old computer then it might not work

Yes I completely removed the printer from my computer and then tried to re-add it, but it wouldn't work

Its probably a permissions problem. IE: i went to setup mums printer 2 minutes ago and it said the same thing. Try messing around with the sharing permissions

Have you made sure she allows it on her pc.
So tick allow this printer to be shared on hewr pc.

Thanks for the idea but I obviously checked that It has it all enabled, but I've just tweaked some settings and I'll see if it works now

OK well i ended up turning all firewalls off and it still didn't work ¬¬

Try using IP, instead of the computer name.

Hmmm, have you tried using "Browse for a printer"? That always lists the printer for me, and it worked for each computer on my network <3
