Hi,

My problem is that when I try to open a log, some, maybe all, started in MP!3 (or older), don't open anymore! No I haven't lost or forgot the password and I'm not asking for a wizard who can magically unencrypt them. Heres some clarifications:

(Please note that all the error messages may be different than yours since I'm using the french version )

1. I go into my logs folder, I try to open a log of the current month, I type my password (I'm 100% sure it's the good one) and I get a MsgBox: "Unencrypting has failed. Please try with another password."

2. I get this error with any of the other (old) encrypted logs that I try.

3. I try the "Change password..." in MP!L button, but it keeps telling me that the password is wrong.

4. I'm 100% sure of my password, which I have since years.

5. I recently formatted my 1st hard drive, thus, erasing Plus! but keeping logs on my 2nd HDD.


What's the matter?

I think I'm reading this correctly when I see that you don't have any version of Plus! before Plus! Live.  Correct?

I'm not sure here, but could the old logs need the old Plus! to open correctly?  Have you tried that? If you haven't download the old Plus! and check it out.

Well no, presently I don't have anything else than MSN Live and Plus Live. And I don't really want to uninstall all MSN Live and Plus Live to find old MSN, reinstall it, reinstall plus, test (only to know), re uninstall all that stuff, reinstall MSN Live, Plus Live... All this would be such a PITA, if we don't forget the reboots... : I need something sure to do a such thing, I hope your understand

Well that's fuzzy but I think I remember having opened my old logs from old Plus in Plus Live...

I've opened old Plus! 3 logs in the new MP!L Log Viewer before.

You can run Plus! 3 and MP!L side-by-side, as well as two Messengers.

OK so the version is not the issue... now what's the matter ?

Either a)the password is wrong... b)somebody changed the password on you.... or c)the file somehow got corrupted
