On an initial (clean) installation, if MP!L detects a Plus! 3 installation, it will automatically run a wizard to help you import all the settings it can.

If you don't uninstall Plus!3 before you install Plus!Live then Plus!Live will import them for you (for asfar as features from Plus! 3 is still in Plus!Live ofcourse).

One recommendation tho: before you uninstall Plus!3 (add/remove programs) after installing Plus!Live, make a soundpack of your customsounds as telling it to delete all will delete the custom sounds aswell

Edit: making a soundpack..plus > soundlibrary > Import/Export on the bottom left. Now if anything happens you can easily import them back in the same way...


Note: Plus!Live will not accept preference files made with older plus! versions...

Is there anyway that I can now import the preference list? Reason being I have 200 over contacts and I can't be possibly renaming them all. There is also no way that I can remember who is who. Appreciate any advice on this.

In Messenger Plus! Live there is no rename contact feature as it's built in to WLM... there is no way to transfer this data, except copy/paste or re-typing them all out... Sorry.
