I don't knows if this problem should be called a BUG, bur here is a description.

I use the new messenger functionality named: "Edit Nickname", but when I put a contact on desktop, or when using tabbed chats, the names that appear are the original ones, not my custom names.

Is it possible to, at least, have an options that could enable the use of custom nicknames in Messenger Plus! Live?

At the moment Plus! can't retrieve the nick set with the "add nickname" feature of WLM. In future we might see it back...maybe even with tags to show friendly name in the contactlist (well, we all hope Patchou finds a way that is...).

Can you please explain better?

(!N) is the required tag. Put tag in text. Tag gets parsed to Display Name.
