I formatted my hdd the other day and kept my MsgPlus3 Settings. Having tried to import the prefereces from the old MsgPlus I get the "Genererated by an older version" message.

In the FAQ it says:

"#17. I cannot import the settings of Messenger Plus! 3!
Yes, this is correct. A lot of features have been changed so don't import the settings from MP!3 into MP!L. Upon installation, Messenger Plus! Live will automatically get many of your old Plus! 3 settings automatically."

The only thing I really care about are the custom contact names for everyone, and I don't want to go through entering them all again. Does that mean I have to

1. Uninstall Live Messenger,
2. Uninstall MsgPlusLive
3. Install 7.5 Again
4. Install MsgPlus3
5. Uninstall 7.5
6. Install Live Messenger

So that the Messenger Plus! Live will be able to get the settings from the old MsgPlus?

Is there ANY way I can just some of the settings from the older msgplus?

Messenger Plus! Live will import all compatible settings from a Messenger Plus! 3 installation. Currently, this doesn't include Custom Names, due to WLM's Nicknames feature. Also currently, there are no tools to import settings from older .pld files.
