The ad at the bottom of the contacts window. Is there a way to get rid of it? I know I have gotten rid of ads on Yahoo! with registry hacks. Is there a similar hack?
Patches are small programs that edit the hex values within messenger. It is possible to remove say, the ad's, certain buttons as well as adding features through uifiles. The best in my view and easiest to get a direct download from is A-Patch.
