And you have a few errors too

Best way would be to have an alert box on first message after offline saying "This contact went offline, do you still wanna send this message?  Yes | No", if they click no, return "" otherwise return the message, that'd be easy.

I'd do it now, but I can't sign in to WLM properly at uni. >.<

That would get very annoying, imo

Hmm, I wouldn't think so, just for one message after they're offline?  How often is that really gonna happen?  Surely a locked text box is more annoying.

I already stated that a locked textbox won't gonna work, instead I write a message in the textbox saying the contact is offline instead of a popup

Personally I prefer alex's idea of the pop-up if you send a message and they are offline.  If I am halfway trough writing something when they go offline (most likely situation) then I wouldn't take any notice of some text in the textbox but a pop-up would definitely grab my attention.

Ooh, tell me that wouldn't be annoying if you've almost finished typing a massive message and it gets replaced with "<Warning, contact is now offline>" or something.

Hey, at least your not gonna send an Offline Messsage
But I like HMasters solution, I haven't got a response for optimizing it, but I'm doing it right now, just waiting for approval to release it...

I'm done rewriting it, I also added the option to send a message anyway, even tough BOM is enabled by clicking the warning toast
And the settings are now stored in the registry...

I definately think this is a promising option (but instead of clearing th emessage, maybe just cancelling the sending of the message).
