I don't know if this is possible, but I'd love to have this function:

Whenever a contact sees a song playing in my MSN, they could type something like "!get song" and it would send that mp3 to them / initiate a file transfer.

Optional/later extras could include:
on/off
exclude certain contacts
exclude certain folders

?

Possible or not? A mod of the File Server script maybe? http://www.msgpluslive.net/scripts/browse/index.php?act=view&id=65

I think if this could be possible your contact would also have to have the script installed because otherwise it would be an invasion of privacy to just take it from their computer...

iTunes+ allows people to request your playing file and browse your entire library, if you switch the options on.

Though it only works for iTunes, obviously.

I don't use iTunes and I'm sure many people don't

To clarify I mean whenever someone on my contact list sees me playing a song, THEY can type !get song to get that particular song, from me (this wouldn't require them to have the script installed).

The current media in WLM can't get the file path, it would have to be player dependent, what player DO you use?

Hmm. Windows Media Player (v11)

or your contact could go:

-'Hey! i really love tht song, can you send it to me?'

+'Yeah sure why not, i don't mind sending you songs i've bought'

-'Thanks dude'

I've had a similar setup for awhile now, but it uses XBMC so you'll need a dll written or something similar to get the path from WMP. I might look into doing something like that later, if nobody else decides to take it up.
