i installed vista on my laptop today... everything is awesome except sound... it just wont work, no music playing or startup sounds, i have tried resintalling the drivers but it didnt work...
any ideas on how to fix it?

i have realtek audio and works fine

the card is nothing special, only has mic input and speaker output besides the laptop's built in speakers

See if windows update will find any drivers for you (in the control panel then search "windows update"). If that doesn't work find out your model of your laptop and start trying to find drivers for Vista in google. I've found that my XP drivers still work but ones specifically made for Vista would be good (could be hard to find at the moment though as it sounds like your soundcard isn't mainstream).

my sound card is an intel 82801DB/DBM, im going to look for them...
