Does your keyboard have a function lock button? Mine does, and if I have function lock on, the print screen button becomes the insert button, so I have to turn off function lock before I take a screenshot using print screen.

ctrl + printscreen doesn't work for me, but the break button works with function lock on or off (at least in Command Prompt/ntvdm), but it shouldn't, based on what the print screen button next to it does.
