i try to send a sound and i get a message box that comes up telling me that its not a regonized command and to add two // if it isnt but then doesnt allow you to add the //.can anyone tell me how to fix this.really need the help.

What shortcut are you using to send the sounds? If the /sound <sound name> isn't working, then you could always just press the little sound icon in the instant messaging window and choose your sounds that way.

hi let me explain further
i have used all the methods to send sounds
both the icon in instant messenger
and the sound library
both times i have gotten this window saying
this is not a regonized command
if it is a command add // to the beginning
the sound pack i have added
was created with messenger plus for msn 7.5
i dont know if that would make a difference.
i have uninstalled and cleaned out all folders
pertaining to windows live messenger
and messenger plus
then reinstalled the programs
and still have the same thing happen
so i am stumped and need help
anything you guys can tell me will be
greatly appreciated

Sometimes a cause for this is if you have replaced a letter with a picture. For example if you have replaced g2g witha picture of g2g. If you have done this remove the picture.

I've do that but I have the error again !

When you pick a sound, plus sends the following message:

/sound [sound number]

If any of the characters are replaced by an emoticon this might mess up, also if you have any scripts installed, try disabling them to make sure they couldn't be interfering in anyway.

I don't have any script installed, also I have just delete all emoticon, but I still have the error!
I'm thinking of uninstalling Messenger Plus, I'm getting annoying of this problem!!!

If you still get the error, follow these instructions:

1. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
2. Remove 'Windows Live Messenger' and 'Messenger Plus! Live' from the list.
3.* Now go to C:\Program Files\ and delete the folders called 'MSN Messenger' and 'Messenger Plus! Live'.
4. Now restart your computer
5. Then download a fresh copy of Windows Live Messenger and Messenger Plus! Live from the links provided.
6. Then install Windows Live Messenger, followed by Messenger Plus! Live.

* Note: Substitute C for the letter of your hard drive.

Now you should have a fresh copy of both WLM and Msg Plus! Live. Now sign-in and try sending one of the default sounds.
