I love the script but the window popping up behind the message window needs to be fixed :/
A+ otherwise

RE: [Release] Babelfish Translator
Congrats on this excellent plugin. I was never aware of the possibilities of WLM and JS together with AJAX.
I have been modifying the script tonight and I got it working now with Freetranslation.com as well. In my opinion this engine is faster and translates better.
It annoyed me I had to type !translate in front of every sentence, so I made a trigger which, once pressed, will translate anything you write. Until you type the trigger again.
I will be working on the script the coming days and will post my version later on. For now I will create a seperate script for freetranslation.com, but I will also try to incorporate it into this one, so people won't need to use 2 scripts.
I will keep you all updated

RE: [Release] Babelfish Translator
would be cool if you could choose upon installation of the script which site to use eg google, babelfish etc anyway to have an incoming translator too? because that would totally rock

RE: [Release] Babelfish Translator
I was thinking of a settings dialog where people are able to set their favorite translating engine. That shouldn't be too hard. I will be looking into the possibilities of translating the incoming messages. I think it should be possible as well.

RE: [Release] Babelfish Translator
A small update:
I have been working on and off on the script for the past week and so far I have been able to accomplish the following:
- Translation through FreeTranslation.com
- Ability to enable translation for everything you write
- Ability to activate the translation for each contact individually
- Ability to set the translation language per contact
- Saving settings to an external settings file
Todo list:
- GUI
- Choosing which translation website/engine to use
- Translation of incoming messages (checking for possibilities)

If I remember correctly, when editing an incoming message, the new message can not be longer than the old one else it will be truncated... This will most likely happen a large percentage of the time as I notice a lot of languages return longer strings.

RE: [Release] Babelfish Translator
Yeah, so I guess the best way is to put a little window next to the chatwindow and put the translated messages in there
