I use TMPGEnc Express, works like a charm

to join, I usually use virtualdub but it's not the most perfect program for the job

I use Avivo Xcode usually with Xvid or H264 compression.

i downloaded the divx converter but it takes so long to even get 1%

i had the video converting for like 30 minutes and it hasn't even made 1%. it keeps analyzing the video.

Avivo Xcode is a hell of a lot faster as it uses the videocard instead of the cpu. However you need a ATi X1000 series card or the cracked version of Avivo Xcode (cracked version can use any videocard from ATi, NVidea or other, however I can't tell you where to get it)

The actual time of conversion with Xcode depends on the compression used and the runtime but usually faster than the runtime.

I want to do this as well. I was thinking that VLC may be able to do it, I haven't tried it though.

I don't have any problem using VirtualDub(Mod).
