To be perfectly honest it was released *checks dates* 4 days ago.
As for my thoughts, I personally think this new design is so much better than the old MSN Hotmail design ( Haven't seen m8 yet so I don't know about that one). It's such a nicer interface, all clean and calm, and it's sortof a google mail lookalike, with some of the actual email being shown to you before you open it, and the menu and all that. I don't think it's really intelligent to stick Windows Live Mail announcements all over the page saying "get windows live mail beta!" as it's rather obvious that you're already using it.

Ive had it for 5 or so days now its a nice update, works great on firefox and internet explorer 7, and seems faster to me
On this Live Mail Topic , Windows Live Mail Desktop was updated recently and thats running a lot better now, and looks cooler
