i was thinking of switching to win xp mce (media center edition) from xp pro, is there any major setback like when switching from pro to home? or is it just +features and none taken away? will all same programs still be supported?

I thought MCE is Pro?

Just with the Media Center software

yes it is basicly pro with media centre software... (and some other small addons...)

i dont think you can buy MCE though..well not to my knollege anyways

I just upgraded from Pro to MCE last week, cause of my 360, and im loving it!
If you have an xbox 360 its bloody excellent.

Basically its exactly the same as pro, with a new visual style, and a "media centre feature" (Its just like a program that opens up, full screen that you can use to view and browse your media) I dont actually use the 'media centre', its just for streaming video to my 360.

So really, depends what you want it for, if its just because you can and your buying it then dont waste your money, if your not buying it *wink* or have a 360, then yeah its worth it.
