After I installed Live OneCare 1.5 beta on my computer didnt messenger want to start anylonger. The solution for this was to uninstall Messenger Plus! Its some kind of conflict between OneCare and Plus! since a friend of me got the same problem after he installed OneCare and he is also using Vista. I dont know any other antivirus systems to use on vista eighter.

Windows Live Messenger 8.0.0812.00 and MsgPlusLive-410.
OS: Windows Vista Build 6000

WLM 8 is known to have compatibility problems on Vista. Messenger Plus Live! is also known to have some minor problems on Vista. As for Windows Vista, it has only been released to some select beta testers and on MSDN for developers to update their applications and to make them Vista compatible.

If you have not obtained Vista legally i suggest you both uninstall until it is officially released to customers in January as this is when most applications should be Vista ready.

I don't know about on Vista, but WLOC is compatible with WLM and MPL on XP.

i use WLOC 1.5 on xp and it has no issues with plus at all, it must be a vista compatability issue.

to sum it up.. Vista is known to have problems with Vista

it isnt a  Vista issue, its MP!L sponsor's issue
if you dont install it, you dont get any trouble, at least with MP!L
