I uninstalled plus! and sweetIM. I forgot I had that loaded onto my machine. I installed plus! and it worked fun, then i loaded sweetIM, and it disappeared. So I am assuming its a conflict with SweetIM, correct?

Indeed. SweetIM and Messenger Plus! are known to have conflicts with each other

if you turned um off accidently then just open a convo wiv someone n put in command, /pref n it will bring up your plus preferences so u can tick to show the icons agen grantin u easy access to event viewer wooooo

So much so that the latest beta of plus even disables SweetIM when it's installing, so I assume there are horrible incompatibilites.  So, you should probably only use one of them.  May I suggest plus?

Won't always work...if you can't see a plus! menu icon or the plus! menu in the menu bar of Windows Live Messenger, then doing what you are sayingwill not always work either to which 9 times out of 10 is the case.
