I've unistaled WLM, erased the folder and reinstaled, but the problem is still there...
For testing pourpouses, I've created a new User on XP and there WLM is working fine...
So... is there a way to Repair it (I doupt this)??? And the most important: Remove Complety WLM (with all settings and all)???
How???
It's going to be hard to move all files and settings to the new User...

Thanks in advance...
(Y)

USING: Win XP Sp2
            WLM 8.0....812

To completely remove it see
CookieRevised's reply to Windows Live Messenger BIG PROBLEM!.

Though, I doubt you need to remove everything though. It is quite possible that just removing your cached directories and/or your custom emoticon directory is enough.

Thanks Cookie!!!

So should I first try the step 5???
Remove all the directories used by Messenger (if they still exist):

C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\
C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Call\
C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Messenger\
C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts\
C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\
C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Contacts\
C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\
C:\Windows\Temp\MessengerCache\

And then unistaling all???

I mean you may not need to uninstall.

Just close messenger, and start by deleteing the application data directories, then restart messenger and see if the problem went away.

Of course, deleting all those directories will remove all custom content you have.

Ps: and don't remove Program Files\MSN Messenger of course when you do all this...
:p
