O.P. ATI Graphics Card
Hey,

First of all i know there  is a thread on Graphics cards but if i  added a post no-one would reply to it so i made a new thread.

Well i am getting an Dell Inspiron 9400 for my xmas this years and it has a 2.0 Ghz duo core CPU. 2 Gb of Ram and so on. One of the specs i am not all thats too sure on is the graphics card, its an ATI radeon X1400 HyperMemory 256MB card. I would like to know is this any good for gaming, not intence gaming but average or such.

I had the chance to upgrade to the Nvidia GeForce 7900 but as it was an extra £211 i kept with the ATI. Should i have upgraded and will the ATI card be good enough for Vista and some gaming?

Thanks in advanced

Pete

Th3e ATI card will be fine for gaming, and will work under Vista. It won't run DirectX 10, but then only the GeForce 8xxx series can do that currently.

The 7900 is a hell of a lot better for gaming and running windows vista, but if you don't want to dish out the extra cash for something that will prove better in the long run, then don't.
