i have a dvd burner in my computer running xp sp2 it's a good lg burner but my computer doesn't reconize the fact it's a burner only a player it burnt dvds when i was running 98 but it must be the auto driver thing in xp or something i tried removing the driver and adding it again but it just adds the same driver.

nowere i can see does windows reconises as a dvd just a dvd/cd rom cd-rw/r

any ideas?

Which LG DVD Burner?

I had the same problem with a LG DVD Burner a while back, and it was the IDE cable at fault. Maybe try changing it?

Note: I dont think LG Burners need to be installed. I have a few of those and Plug and Play recignized them perfectly.

P.S: Try to use some puncuation marks. Its sorta confusing.

i can't find the piece of paper telling me wat model it is  and it's in a desk top unit which is anyoing to reseat but
